Speed Dials
You use the Speed Dials tab to configure speed dial numbers
for use throughout the system. You can:
- Add or create a new system speed dial.
- Remove a speed dial setting.
- Print a list of current system speed dial settings.
Up to 100 System Speed Dial numbers are allowed. The NBX 100
includes 100 System Speed Dial numbers. You can edit this list,
replacing the default values with frequently dialed numbers.
The administrator can create both System Speed Dial and Personal
Speed Dial button definitions and assign them to Groups. Any phone
assigned to a Group has access to the same button definitions.
Users can create Personal Speed Dial definitions for buttons that
do not already have a button mapping. Users can also change definitions
for any buttons mapped as Personal Speed Dial buttons, even if
those buttons are defined in the Group Button Mappings.
You can use a System Speed Dial number to hide the actual number
being called. For example, you can program the NBX 100 administrator's
home phone number into the Speed Dial list. Users never see the
phone number, just the code assigned to it.
System Speed Dial numbers are not subject to Class of Service
restrictions, so a Speed Dial Number mapped to a number that is
a toll call is available to users even if their CoS does not allow
toll calls. (Personal Speed Dial numbers are subject to CoS.)
Note that Speed Dial codes are not extensions.
NOTE: Commas cannot be used with Speed Dial numbers on T1
lines or H.323 lines.
